Reabilitação da antiga Escola Primária da Valinha, Guimarães no café livraria Linhas Soltas, Guimarães

Abstract

No âmbito da Unidade Curricular de Projeto, lecionada no segundo semestre do terceiro ano da Licenciatura em Design de Interiores e Equipamento, foi proposto o desenvolvimento de um Projeto Final, com possibilidade de escolha entre as vertentes de Design de Interiores ou Design de Equipamento. A vertente escolhida para este projeto é a de Design de Interiores, uma vez que esta permite abranger de forma integrada ambas as áreas — interiores e equipamento. Esta abordagem possibilita uma exploração mais alargada das diversas componentes do design, desde a organização espacial até à seleção de mobiliário e elementos decorativos, refletindo a diversidade de conhecimentos e competências adquiridos ao longo do percurso académico. O projeto propõe a reabilitação da antiga Escola Primária da Valinha, situada em Guimarães, atualmente desativada, com o intuito de lhe atribuir uma nova funcionalidade. A proposta visa a criação do Café Livraria Linhas Soltas, um espaço que promova a cultura, o convívio e a partilha, contribuindo para a valorização social e cultural da zona em que se insere. Com esta intervenção, pretende-se não só devolver utilidade ao edifício, mas também potenciar o seu valor como ponto de encontro comunitário. O projeto tem como principais objetivos estimular o crescimento sustentável do espaço, aumentar a sua viabilidade económica e reforçar a oferta cultural da cidade, promovendo, assim, o envolvimento e o enriquecimento da comunidade local. Numa fase inicial do desenvolvimento do presente trabalho, procedeu-se à recolha e análise das informações necessárias, nomeadamente: o levantamento dos desenhos técnicos do espaço, a consulta da legislação aplicável em Portugal, a investigação relacionada com a temática do projeto e a análise de casos de referência semelhantes já existentes. Este projeto representa, igualmente, uma mais-valia para a comunidade local, na medida em que pretende fomentar as relações interpessoais, dinamizar a vida social da zona envolvente e contribuir para o desenvolvimento do turismo local, promovendo uma maior atratividade cultural e económica do espaço reabilitado. Abstract : As part of the Project Course, taught in the second semester of the third year of the Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and Equipment, the development of a Final Project was proposed, with the option to choose between the areas of Interior Design or Equipment Design. The chosen approach for this project is Interior Design, as it allows for an integrated exploration of both areas — interiors and equipment. This approach enables a broader exploration of various design components, ranging from spatial organization to the selection of furniture and decorative elements, reflecting the diverse knowledge and skills acquired throughout my academic journey. The project proposes the rehabilitation of the former Escola Primária da Valinha, located in Guimarães, which is currently deactivated, with the aim of giving it a new function. The proposal envisions the creation of the Café Livraria Linhas Soltas, a space that promotes culture, social interaction, and sharing, contributing to the social and cultural enhancement of the area in which it is located. With this intervention, the goal is not only to restore the building’s utility but also to enhance its value as a community gathering point. The main objectives of the project are to stimulate the space’s sustainable growth, increase its economic viability, and strengthen the city’s cultural offerings, thus promoting community engagement and the enrichment of the local area. In the initial stage of this project, the necessary information was gathered and analyzed, including: the collection of technical drawings of the space, the review of applicable legislation in Portugal, research related to the project’s theme, and the analysis of similar reference cases that already exist. This project also represents a valuable asset to the local community, as it aims to foster interpersonal relationships, revitalize the social life of the surrounding area, and contribute to the development of local tourism, promoting greater cultural and economic attraction to the rehabilitated space.
