Abstract
Abstract : This project was carried out in two distinct phases, the first being the analysis of the literary work “Memorial do Convento”, by the portuguese author José Saramago, and the second being its adaptation for costumes, of a contemporary nature. The project aims to create costumes for theatrical performances, based on the student's knowledge, in order to break the stereotype, which follows the works of the author José Saramago, of being uninteresting, reflecting in the costumes the light and charismatic way in which this narrative can be taken. A summary of the book's narrative is presented, along with the historical contextualization, which proved to be fundamental for the completion of this work. From this study, the characters to be worked on were selected and analyzed, studying the way in which the author represents them, how they were represented previously and, subsequently, panels were created where the vision for their costumes is reflected. The final design of the costumes is presented based on sketches, illustrations, and technical sheets, noting the materials selected for their creation. A project budget report is made, and a conclusion of the report is presented afterwards, as well as the bibliographic and Webgraphic references.
