Abstract
Abstract : This internship report was prepared within the scope of the internship/project curricular unit in a degree in Engineering and Management at the Escola Superior De Tecnologia do Instituto Polite cnico de Castelo Branco developed at Empresa Manutrial, LDA, in Guarda, between February 12, 2024 and July 31, 2024. The internship first objective was to deepen the knowledge acquired throughout the Degree course, in the area of Maintenance/machining and parts development and thus improve knowledge. This internship focused on the preparation of 3D printing work, solidworks design, CNC machining work, corrective maintenance, CNC wood cutting and project changes. During the 3D printing process, I developed several objects, including machine protections and supports, as well as specific protections for different types of equipment. Due to the confidential nature of these projects, it will not be possible to include visual demonstrations or details in the report. The main purpose of the protections created is to prevent operators from manipulating the vision and displacement sensors, thus ensuring the integrity and correct functioning of the systems involved. In this course, I used Solidworks to design my basic project: a storage bench to support CNC machines. This project was developed from the initial sketch to its complete construction. I also designed the tops for the countertop and modular drawers. The storage bench was designed with the aim of preventing the operator from wasting time looking for tools, such as wrenches, thus improving organization and efficiency in the work environment. I also had the pleasure of preparing the changes to the measures for better operator efficiency on the benches where cabling assessments are carried out at the company Kromberg and Schubert. In one of the CNCs, there was a faulty solenoid valve, which was leaking air through the exhaust outlet, causing noise and impairing the operation of the compressor. I analyzed the problem and replaced the faulty solenoid valve with a new one, thus restoring the correct functioning of the system. The experience gained from carrying out the activities developed expanded the knowledge acquired in the course, in addition to being an added value for me.
