Intervenção na zona de balneoterapia do balneário termal do Cró, na Rapoula do Côa

Abstract

Este documento constitui uma síntese explicativa do projeto final de curso desenvolvido ao longo do 2.º semestre do 3.º ano da Licenciatura em Design de Interiores e Equipamento. A presente proposta foi concebida com o objetivo de permitir aos estudantes aplicar e consolidar as competências adquiridas ao longo dos três anos de formação, na Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco. Neste contexto, apresenta-se o meu projeto final, desenvolvido no âmbito da unidade curricular de Projeto, e intitulado: Reabilitação da Zona de Balneoterapia do Balneário Termal do Cró, localizado na Rapoula do Côa, distrito da Guarda, e pertencente à Câmara Municipal do Sabugal. A intervenção tem como finalidade melhorar o ambiente desta área específica, aplicando os princípios do Design de Interiores e Equipamento — com especial enfoque na vertente de Design de Interiores, área com a qual mais me identifico e que pretendo seguir profissionalmente. Esta proposta técnica e formal tem como principal objetivo criar um espaço confortável e acolhedor, onde os utilizadores possam usufruir dos tratamentos com água termal, em harmonia com a natureza envolvente. O edifício das Termas do Cró é constituído por três pisos, sendo que a intervenção se concentra numa área específica do primeiro piso. Pretende-se o desenvolvimento de espaços cómodos e funcionais, com especial atenção à acessibilidade para pessoas com mobilidade reduzida, tornando esta zona mais inclusiva e adequada às necessidades de todos os utilizadores. Com este projeto, concluo uma etapa fundamental do meu percurso académico, refletindo não só o conhecimento técnico e criativo adquirido ao longo da licenciatura, mas também a minha visão pessoal enquanto futura profissional na área do Design de Interiores. A reabilitação da zona de balneoterapia das Termas do Cró representa, assim, um exercício de síntese entre funcionalidade, estética e sensibilidade social, traduzindo o compromisso de criar espaços mais humanos, acessíveis e integrados no seu contexto natural. Abstract : This document provides an explanatory summary of the final course project developed throughout the 2nd semester of the 3rd year of the Bachelor's Degree in Interior and Equipment Design. The purpose of this project is to enable students to apply, consolidate, and further develop the skills acquired over the three years of study at the School of Applied Arts, Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco. In this context, I present my final project, developed within the scope of the Project curricular unit. It consists of the rehabilitation of the balneotherapy area of the Cró Thermal Spa, located in Rapoula do Côa, in the district of Guarda, under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Sabugal. The intervention aims to create a more welcoming and refined environment for this space, within the framework of Interior and Furniture Design. However, it is the field of Interior Design in which I feel most confident, and which I intend to pursue professionally. This technical and formal intervention is primarily focused on designing a comfortable and calming environment, where users can benefit from thermal water treatments while enjoying the surrounding natural landscape. The Cró Thermal Spa comprises three floors, although my intervention is limited to a specific area on the first floor. The project aims to create functional and comfortable spaces, with particular attention given to accessibility for people with reduced mobility, thereby ensuring that the space is inclusive and welcoming to all users. With this project, I bring to a close a fundamental stage of my academic journey, reflecting not only the technical and creative knowledge acquired throughout the degree, but also my personal vision as a future professional in the field of Interior Design. The rehabilitation of the balneotherapy area at the Cró Thermal Spa represents an exercise in balancing functionality, aesthetics, and social awareness, embodying the commitment to creating more human, accessible, and contextually integrated spaces.
