Abstract
Abstract : This project consists of the design and manufacture of a prototype of an automotive component using 3D printing technology. 3D printing offers an innovative and efficient approach to the production of automotive parts, allowing the creation of customized components with complex geometries and specific materials. The objective was to test the feasibility of using Tough PLA, a thermoplastic material, as an alternative to replace traditional components. Initially, the project involved the design phase, in which 3D modeling software such as Patran and Nastran were used to create the model of the component, taking into account the requirements for performance, resistance and integration with other vehicle systems. After the design was completed, computer simulations were performed using the finite element method to verify the feasibility and optimize the geometry of the component. The manufacturing process was then carried out using an industrial 3D printer, which deposits successive layers of material to build the desired component. Tough PLA materials were selected to ensure the durability and performance of the component, taking into account the requirements for mechanical resistance and dimensional tolerances. This project contributes to the advancement of the automotive industry by presenting an innovative and efficient alternative for the design and manufacture of customized components. In addition, it highlights the potential of 3D printing as a disruptive technology in the production of high-quality and high-performance parts for vehicles.
