ABSTRACT: This report was prepared as part of the curricular internship for the Bachelor's Degree in Management - Human Resources Branch, at the Escola Superior de Gestão de Idanha-a-Nova (ESGIN), part of the Instituto Politécnico of Castelo Branco. The internship was carried out at the company Vigobloco - Pré-Fabricados, S.A, located in Urqueira, Ourém, in the Human Resources Department over a period of approximately three months, from 23 March 2026 to 19 June 2026. The main objective of the internship was to develop technical skills in the field of human resources. This was a key experience that provided practical knowledge in a real business environment and contributed to better preparation for integration into the job market, offering a first contact with the professional world of human resources. The methodology adopted was primarily based on active participation in most of the department's daily activities. Nevertheless, in some tasks, the involvement was more passive and observational, due to the high level of autonomy, responsibility, knowledge and experience required. The purpose of this report is to describe the activities carried out during the internship in accordance with the plan. The intern was involved in a wide range of tasks across several areas of Human Resources, namely: time and attendance management, occupational health and safety, admission processes, professional training, management and record-keeping of uniforms/PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), scheduling of holidays and working hours, as well as other administrative duties. The internship was an excellent opportunity to acquire and consolidate knowledge. It enabled the intern to develop communication, organisational and responsibility skills, contributing to the intern's growth not only professionally but also personally. Overall, the experience proved to be very positive and the excellent welcome the intern received from the host organisation played a major part in this. This experience was crucial to apply the practical knowledge and skills acquired throughout the intern's degree in a real-world work context. It provided a deeper insight into how a Human Resources Department actually operates. It was an excellent way to better prepare the intern for a professional life and future challenges. It establishes a close link between the theory taught on the course and real-world practice in a workplace thereby reinforcing the importance of bridging the gap between theory and practice.
