Abstract : This project presents the development of a fashion collection based on the upcycling of neckties, composed of ten outfits created exclusively through the reuse of this accessory. The collection offers a critical and cyclical reflection on power as a social construction, exploring its evolution from popular origins to ascension, consolidation, decline and symbolic renewal. Historically associated with authority, formality and social hierarchy, the necktie is reinterpreted as reused material and symbolic reference. Through deconstruction and recomposition processes, it loses its conventional function and acquires new meanings, becoming a material witness to sociopolitical transformations. The project is framed within a contemporary context marked by social, political and environmental crises, emphasizing the need to rethink fashion production models and the symbolic value of clothing. The project aims to investigate the symbolic and material potential of the necktie, experiment with upcycling and textile reuse practices, and develop a collection that is coherent in terms of aesthetics and construction. The methodology is based on design project management and integrates theoretical and visual research, trend and market analysis, textile experimentation, formal development of the outfits and strategic planning. The expected outcome is a fashion collection based on the upcycling of neckties, with a strong authorial identity, capable of communicating a critical narrative through form and material, highlighting fashion design as a socially conscious and environmentally responsible practice.
