Abstract: This report describes the work carried out during the curricular internship completed as part of the Higher Professional Technical Course in Electronic Systems and Computers, at EVOX Technologies, located in the Industrial Area of Castelo Branco. The company develops technological solutions for waste management and stands out in the national market through innovation and the application of engineering to industry. Over approximately four months of internship, from 18 February to 8 June, I actively participated in an Artificial Intelligence project applied to industrial automation. In this context, I contributed to the development of a waste classification system based on computer vision. My main responsibility consisted of annotating and preparing more than 35,000 images using the CVAT tool, which were subsequently used to train object detection models. In parallel, I carried out complementary activities, namely video analysis and editing, which allowed me to expand my technical knowledge and develop a greater sense of responsibility. This experience provided an opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired throughout the course in a practical context, strengthening both technical and interpersonal skills. Integration into a multidisciplinary team and participation in agile methodologies contributed significantly to my professional development. The internship proved to be an extremely enriching experience, allowing me to gain a better understanding of the dynamics of a business environment, strengthen my adaptability skills, and prepare more effectively for the challenges of the labour market. The positive feedback received from the company also reinforced my motivation to continue developing professionally.
