Remodelação do Hostel “Green Wave”, Figueira da Foz

Abstract

O presente documento consiste na realização do projeto final de curso, desenvolvido durante o 6º semestre de Licenciatura em Design de Interiores e Equipamento, no âmbito da unidade curricular de Projeto, lecionada na Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco. Este projeto consiste na remodelação do Hostel Green Wave, localizado na Figueira da Foz, distrito de Coimbra, sobre a vertente de Design de Interiores, tem como objetivo aplicar as qualificações e conhecimentos obtidos ao longo da licenciatura. O Green Wave Hostel, apesar da sua localização privilegiada junto ao mar, apresenta atualmente limitações ao nível da organização espacial, da funcionalidade dos ambientes e da adequação às rotinas dos seus utilizadores em especial os praticantes de surf, desportos de praia e turismo jovem. A proposta surge, assim, da necessidade de adaptar os interiores às novas exigências do público-alvo, através da criação de ambientes funcionais, confortáveis e com maior identidade. A proposta valoriza a identidade costeira da cidade, refletindo no interior do hostel o espírito acolhedor da Figueira da Foz. Através da seleção cuidada de materiais, cores, formas e organização espacial, procura-se integrar elementos que convidem os visitantes a sentir-se parte do lugar, promovendo uma ligação autêntica entre os interiores e a cidade. Abstract : This document consists of the completion of the final course project, developed during the 6th semester of the Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and Equipment, within the Project curricular unit at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas of the Instituto de Castelo Branco. This project focuses on the renovation of the Green Wave Hostel, located in Figueira da Foz, in the district of Coimbra, from an Interior Design area. It’s main objective is to apply the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the degree. Although the Green Wave Hostel benefits from a privileged location by the sea, it currently presents limitations in terms of spatial organization, the functionality of its environments, and their suitability to the daily routines of its users particularly surfers, beach sports enthusiasts, and young travelers. The proposal, therefore, arises from the need to adapt the interior spaces to meet the new demands of the target audience, by creating environments that are functional, comfortable, and rich in identity. The design emphasizes the coastal identity of the city, aiming to reflect the welcoming spirit of Figueira da Foz within the hostel’s interior. Through the careful selection of materials, colors, forms, and spatial organization, the project seeks to integrate elements that invite guests to feel part of the place, fostering an authentic connection between the interior spaces and the city itself.
