Enfermagem veterinária em animais de companhia

Abstract

O presente relatório é referente ao estágio curricular realizado na área de Enfermagem Veterinária de animais de companhia. Este decorreu no Hospital Veterinária das Cortes (HVC), nas Cortes, Leiria, no período de 15 de abril a 13 de agosto, num total de 662 horas. Durante o período de estágio foram acompanhados 827 animais, 526 animais em consulta, 79 em cirurgia, 127 em internamento, 64 em fisioterapia e 31 em tosquia. O estágio permitiu a aplicação dos conhecimentos lecionados durante o curso, e o desenvolvimento de qualidades referentes à profissão de enfermeiro veterinário e ao mercado de trabalho na área de veterinária. Durante o estágio foram desempenhadas funções de auxílio ao Médico Veterinário, colheita de amostras e análises, realização de exames e cuidado e tratamento dos pacientes que chegavam ao HVC.

Abstract: The present report refers to the internship carried out in the field of Veterinary Nursing for domestic animals. This took place at the Veterinary Hospital of Cortes, in Cortes, Leiria, from April 15 to August 13, totalling 662 hours. During the internship, 827 animals were attended to: 526 in consultations, 79 in surgeries, 127 in hospitalization, 64 in physiotherapy, and 31 in grooming. The internship practice allowed for the application of knowledge taught during the course and the development of skills relevant to the profession of veterinary nurse and the job market in the veterinary field. During the internship, tasks included assisting the Veterinarian, collecting samples and conducting analyses, performing examinations, and providing care and treatment to patients arriving at the hospital.
