| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: The growing demand for sustainable energy solutions requires innovative materials that can improve thermal management while remaining eco-friendly and cost-effective. Phase Change Materials (PCMs) offer great potential for thermal energy storage, but theirpractical application is limited by issues such as leakage and low thermal conductivity. In this study, natural biomass-based fillers derived from corncob were investigated as porous supports for capric acid. The experimental work included particle size fractioning, leakage tests under controlled conditions, and determination of the melting point of capric acid. To further characterize the materials, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Raman Spectroscopy were applied. The results demonstrated that corncob-based fillers interact effectively with the organic PCM, ensuring better dispersion and thermal stability. This highlights the potential of agricultural waste valorization in the development of cost efficient and sustainable PCM composites for advanced thermal energy storage applications. | |
