Abstract: This final undergraduate project, conducted within the Project Management and Project course under the supervision of Professors Teresa Raquel and Magda, focuses on sustainable modular bags. The project begins by exploring fundamental methodologies, such as extensive research on various topics, including the historical context of bags, the study of typologies that explain the modular function of the accessory and its purpose, market analysis of competing brands, and the objective definition of a target audience through an online survey. Based on the collected information, it became necessary to define the concept of sustainability, its impact on the industry, and how to mitigate the adverse effects through viable solutions for better environmental performance and sales revenue. The project also examines the impact of alternative and more sustainable raw materials already used by various brands in iconic products. From this research, the choice of waterproof fabric, commonly used for umbrellas, as the primary material emerged. An analysis of modular systems was also conducted. The creative process began with identifying the problem of organization or lack of space in a bag, leading to the need for solutions. This include d developing the mood board for concept/type/details, sketches of the capsule collection, a materials and trims board, and technical drawings of the selected designs. To implement the product in the market, the project created the brand name, visual identity, mission, vision, and values. The prototyping process followed, testing the modeling and construction of the sketched accessories. Upon completing the final prototype, calculations for both the product and project budget were necessary. Finally, the project built promotional, communication, and commercialization platforms for the brand, defining communication and marketing strategies.
